Characters

The rebels, the computers, and the enemies who defined Blake's 7.

Roj Blake

Leader (Series 1–2)

Idealistic freedom fighter whose memories were wiped by the Federation. Driven, charismatic, and willing to risk everything for the cause. His absence later haunts the crew.

Kerr Avon

Computer expert / later leader

Brilliant, cynical, and self-preserving. Avon is the intellectual core of the group and the master of withering one-liners. He becomes de-facto leader after Blake’s departure.

Vila Restal

Thief

Cowardly on the surface, but a first-rate lockpick and survivor. Vila provides much of the comic relief while remaining surprisingly competent when cornered.

Jenna Stannis

Pilot & smuggler (Series 1–2)

Cool, professional, and one of the best pilots in the galaxy. Jenna is pragmatic and loyal, though she grows disillusioned with Blake’s increasingly dangerous crusade.

Cally

Auronar telepath (Series 1–3)

Guerrilla fighter from the planet Auron with limited telepathic abilities. Compassionate and committed to the struggle against oppression.

Olag Gan

Strong arm (Series 1–2)

Gentle giant fitted with a limiter that prevents him from killing. Loyal and steady until his death during the assault on Control.

Dayna Mellanby

Weapons expert (Series 3–4)

Young, skilled, and driven by the murder of her father. Dayna brings lethal competence and a personal hatred of Servalan.

Del Tarrant

Pilot / former Federation officer (Series 3–4)

Arrogant, capable, and sometimes difficult. Tarrant joins after the Liberator is lost and becomes a key member of the Scorpio crew.

Soolin

Gunfighter (Series 4)

Professional and deadly. Soolin joins late in the series and proves herself repeatedly in the final confrontations.

Zen

Liberator’s computer

Formal, precise, and bound by its programming. Zen is the voice of the ship and one of the most memorable computers in science fiction.

Orac

Super-computer

Arrogant, brilliant, and capable of accessing almost any system. Orac is both an invaluable asset and a constant source of irritation.

Servalan

Supreme Commander / President

The Federation’s most glamorous and ruthless antagonist. Elegant, ambitious, and personally obsessed with the Liberator and its crew.

Travis

Space Commander

One-eyed, black-clad hunter with a personal vendetta against Blake. Travis is relentless until his own end at Star One.
